Ubuntu Linux is getting ready in the stage and gaining awesome powers to fight with non-free operating systems including Windows. As a part of this gaining, Upcoming version of Ubuntu, Ubuntu 12.04 which is going to be published on 2012 April will include HUD(Head Up Display). Canonical is actually making an milestone in contextual menus by adding this feature to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

HUD dispenses with drop-down menus with users accessing features and invoking commands through a system that combines search and natural-language auto-complete. You type the action you require into a search field that pops out and produces options – a-la Google Instant – as you type, HUD then (hopefully) produces the option you want and you select it. This system is familiar to us by using it in famous Web Browsers like Google Chrome. And its sure that those features will surely prepare Ubuntu to fight against its opponents in Operating System Field. A head-up display or heads-up display—also known as a HUD—is any transparent display that presents data without requiring users to look away from their usual viewpoints.
