Most of the web giants including Google, Facebook and Microsoft are being the preys of phishing and getting some of their services broken. It may be the reason for forming an Anti-Phishing Alliance Named DMARC. Even those companies are making a battle in web, 15 Web Giants including Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Yahoo have been combined together forming such Anti-Phishing Alliance whose aim is to eliminate huge amounts of email spam and reduce the impact of phishing attacks on unsuspecting users.

“Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) initiative, a new technical specification that will “reduce the potential for email-based abuse by solving a couple of long-standing operational, deployment, and reporting issues related to email authentication protocols.”

The DMARC policies have been published in the public Domain Name System (DNS) and are available to everyone. The next step is to submit the specification as an official Internet standard (as noted on the DMARC website):

It is the goal of DMARC.org to submit the draft specification to the IETF so that it may begin the process of becoming an official Internet Standard RFC – available to everyone for reference, implementation, and improvement.

This system will allow Google, Microsoft, Yahoo to offer their users a consistent authorization for messages from Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Such services. Hence those companies can offer more reliable service thus gather trust from users. Anyway let us hope for internet with 0% Phishing attacks and Hope even this DMARC website will be affected by phishing (Phishing experts are much cruel right ?)
