WordAds ; A Challenge To Adsense
As you may know Wordpress had partnered with federated media publishing. And as a continuation of this story, Wordpress is going to add their own ad service on Wordpress blogs. And Wordpress.com says that its more useful than Adsense ad service from Google. And this project is named WordAds. And there is no need to say that its a challenge to Google Adsense. These words from Wordpress blog is enough to tell you what is Wordads. And you may notice a little bit of challenge for Google Here.

Wordpress blog post says that all Wordpress blogs will be able to use this service. Since the blogs for this service will be selected by the public visibility, custom domain, traffic, engagement, language used in blog.
